There is a version of every rider's summer that never quite happens: the road trip. A long weekend, a few tracks you have always wanted to hit, one truck, and a loose plan. The riding was never the hard part. The planning was. Which tracks, in what order, how far apart, where do you sleep, and what is even happening while you are out there.
That is exactly what the Series Planner is for. Pick your tracks off a map, and it builds the whole trip around them. Here is how to use it, start to finish.
What the Series Planner is
The Series Planner is a multi-stop road-trip builder for motocross. You choose tracks on a map, and it stitches them into an ordered itinerary, called a series, with the driving route between them already worked out. Every stop comes with the practical stuff: nearby hotels, upcoming events and the weather. When you are done you have a real plan you can navigate, save, and share, not a note in your phone you will lose by Thursday.
You can build one in a couple of minutes.
Step 1: Open the planner
Head to the Series Planner. You will see a split screen: an interactive map on one side with every track in the directory dropped on as a dot, and your itinerary panel on the other. Zoom into the part of the country you want to ride.
Step 2: Click tracks to add them as stops
Click any track on the map to add it to your series. It becomes stop one, then stop two, and so on, numbered right there on the map. Keep clicking to add as many tracks as you want. That is the whole idea: you build your route by tapping the tracks you want to hit.
Step 3: Let the route build itself
The moment you have two or more stops, the planner draws the driving route between them and does the math for you: the distance and drive time for each leg, your total miles, your total hours behind the wheel, and an estimate of how many days the trip will take. No spreadsheet, no juggling a map app in another tab.
Step 4: Dial in each stop
Open any stop to see what is around it. Each one gives you:
- Events. Races and events happening near that track, so you can time your trip around the ones you want to catch.
- How to book. Where the track lists a phone number, a website or gate pricing, it is right there on the stop, so you can sort out entry before you set off.
- Hotels. Places to stay nearby, with a rough nightly estimate and a link to check live rates and book. Pick one and it gets attached to the stop. The nightly numbers are estimates, so tap through for the real price.
- Notes. A spot to jot anything for that stop: gate times, who you are meeting, what to bring.
Each stop also shows the weather, so you know what you are rolling into before you leave.
Step 5: Reorder until the route makes sense
Grab a stop by its handle and drag it up or down to change the order. The route and the drive times recalculate on the spot, so you can shuffle stops around until the trip actually flows, closest first, or built around the one event you refuse to miss.
Step 6: Name it and save
Give your series a name and hit Save Series. One thing worth knowing up front: you can build a plan without an account, but to save it you need to be signed in. So log in early, before you have put real work into it. Once it is saved, you can set it Public or Private. Private keeps it to yourself. Public shares it with the community.
Step 7: Navigate, add it to your calendar, or share it
A saved series is not just a list. You can:
- Start Navigation. Open the whole multi-stop route in Apple Maps or Google Maps, every waypoint in order.
- Add to Calendar. Download the trip as a calendar file, with each stop as an event that carries the drive, the hotel, and your notes.
- Share. Copy a link to a clean public page of your series that previews nicely when you send it to the crew.
Share it, or start from someone else's
Any series you make public lands in the community gallery, where riders can filter by region or difficulty, sort by most viewed or top rated, and clone one straight into their own planner. Cloning drops the entire itinerary into your own planner as a private copy you can change: swap stops, adjust the order, make it yours.
The best trip is the one you actually take
Most great moto road trips die in the group chat. The Series Planner takes the friction out of the planning so the trip has a chance to happen. Pick a weekend, open the map, and start clicking tracks.
