James “Bubba” Stewart Returns to Pro Motocross Championship as All-Star Analyst for Budds Creek National Broadcast
Catch Live Coverage All Day Long with Fast Lap Qualifying and All Motos on MAVTV Motorsports Network and “MAVTV on FloRacing”
MORGANTOWN, WV – August 18, 2022 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – The 50th Anniversary of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will move one step closer to the finish line this Saturday, August 20, with an annual visit to the shadow of the nation’s capital of Washington D.C. and Southern Maryland’s famed Budds Creek Motocross Park. One of American motocross’ most prolific and uniquely challenging venues will play a pivotal role in the ongoing title fights at the GEICO Motorcycle Budds Creek National, where broadcast coverage of the 10th round will be showcased live on both MAVTV Motorsports Network and “MAVTV on FloRacing”, beginning with morning Fast Lap Qualifying before giving way to four consecutive hours of moto coverage featuring the 250 Class and 450 Class.
Adding to the excitement of the action at Budds Creek will be the highly anticipated return of James “Bubba” Stewart to the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. One of the sport’s most decorated and beloved figures will make his broadcast debut as All-Star Analyst, where he’ll join host and lead commentator Jason Weigandt. No rider in the history of off-road motorcycle racing captured the admiration of the fans quite like Stewart, whose incredible talent aboard a motorcycle forever changed the landscape of the sport and made him one of motocross’ most transcendent athletes. Something special was in store with every gate drop as Stewart seemingly always defied the laws of physics to become one of the most uniquely dominant riders of all time. Perhaps no moment was more indicative of Stewart’s indelible legacy on the sport than the infamous “Bubba Scrub,” which was shared with the world in competition for the first time at this very event, the Budds Creek National, during the 2003 season. This once groundbreaking maneuver has now become commonplace for the modern motocross athlete and is a necessity for success. With a career that spanned 14 seasons from 2002 to 2016, Stewart is celebrated as the most dominant 125cc rider of all time with two championships (2002 & 2004) and 28 wins in 31 starts, while also being one of just two riders to amass a perfect season, where he went 24-0 in 2008 to capture his lone 450 Class title. All told, Stewart’s three championships are accompanied by 48 combined victories over the course of his career, which places him second all time. Mere weeks ago, Stewart was announced as one of the newest inductees in the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame as a member of the “Class of 2022” and has enjoyed a welcome return to the motocross spotlight with his popular “Bubba’s World” podcast.
