About

The Capeway Rovers Motorcycle Club, founded in 1934 in Bourne, Massachusetts, boasts the title of the oldest motocross track on the East Coast. Their journey began behind a Chase Chevrolet dealership, but eminent domain forced them to relocate. In 1951, the club found a new 60-acre home nestled amongst cranberry bogs in Middleboro. Initially designed for scrambles and TT (Tourist Trophy) races, the track now exclusively features motocross events. This legendary track has seen countless legends carve their names in the dirt. New England motocross greats like Dick Bettencourt, Jo Jo Keller, and Doug Henry have all left their mark at Middleboro. Over 800 motocross races have been held here, solidifying its place in motocross history. Here's a fun fact for motocross enthusiasts: While Bernie Yelin of Southwick is credited with inventing the backwards-falling starting gate, local lore claims Dick Roy, father of motocross racer Dwight Roy, built a similar gate at Middleboro years earlier.
